“There’s No People Like Show People!”

Directed by the critically acclaimed Darryl Spijkers, with Musical Direction from Jon-Paul Ruschenbaum, together with more of their award-winning team. HHDS proudly present their end of year musical - Annie Get Your Gun. Auditions will take place at the Playhouse Theatre on Sunday the 3rd of June 2018.

Darryl Spijkers (Director of Annie, Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Shrek the Musical and more), together with his Production Team, will be staging the classic smash-hit Broadway musical of Annie Get Your Gun later this year. Rough-and-tumble Annie Oakley is the best shot around. A “backwoods gal”, Annie uses her skill to support her family by selling the game she hunts. When she’s discovered by Buffalo Bill and persuaded to join his Wild West Show, Annie is plucked from obscurity and becomes the toast of Europe. Annie meets her match in Frank Butler, Buffalo Bill’s leading man and star marksman. She falls head over heels for Frank, but soon eclipses him as the main attraction in the show. Her success with a gun makes trouble for Annie’s chance at romance. Annie Get Your Gun follows the journey of Annie and Frank, revealing their competitive natures as they vie for best shot - and each other’s hearts. This fictionalized version of the life of real-life sharpshooter Annie Oakley and her romance with Frank Butler boasts a score of Irving Berlin gems including “There’s No Business Like Show Business”, “I Got Lost in His Arms”, “I Got the Sun in the Mornin’”, “Anything You Can Do,” and “They Say It’s Wonderful.”

Join the Wild West and come and audition. All auditionees are requested to learn “No Business Like Show Business” for their audition. For those auditioning for Annie and Frank, please learn “No Business Like Show Business” AND “Anything You Can Do”. Each auditionee will be given some dialogue and a piece of movement to learn on the day.

You are not required to sign up prior to auditions – just show up and show off on the day. On audition day, please ensure that you arrive within sufficient time for registration - registration will open 30 minutes prior to your audition slot.

Please note that call-backs and auditions for the band/orchestra will take place on Sunday 10th, please keep this date free.
