Calling all aspiring actors in the Vaal!

Vaal Film Lab is searching for fresh talent to bring an exciting new short film, Freedom Theatre, to life! This is a rare opportunity for passionate actors to be part of a compelling story that will premiere at the launch of the Vaal Film Lab’s film festival later this year.

Freedom Theatre follows Ntsika, a 25-year-old theatre lover who has struggled to find a job. When he finally lands a position as the new cleaner and caretaker of the mysterious Freedom Theatre, he is thrilled—unaware that supernatural forces are lurking within its walls.

AVAILABLE ROLES

Ntsika (Lead Role)
- Male, 25-28 years old
- Slim, tall
- Language: Xhosa (with some Sesotho)
- Skills: Must be able to dance and move flexibly

Mr. PM
- Male, 40-50 years old
- Black, short, chubby
- Character: Mysterious, former dancer
- Skills: Singing and/or playing a musical instrument is an advantage

Dikeledi
- Female, 24-28 years old
- Tall, natural hair (no braids)
- Character: A ghost who dwells in the theatre
