If you think you have what it takes to be crowned the nation’s best amateur baker, then BBC Lifestyle wants to hear from you as The Great South African Bake Off returns for season 2.
The Great South African Bake Off Series 2 is a national ‘bake-off’ where 12 amateur bakers compete to be crowned South Africa’s Best Amateur Baker. Each week the bakers face a different baking discipline that they must master, as the weeks go on these become progressively more difficult. Each episode holds three challenges for the bakers to undertake, after which the least successful leaves the bake-off.
To qualify for consideration as a participant in the programme:
- You must be aged 18 or above on 1 August 2016.
- You must be a legal South African resident.
- You must not have any catering qualifications unless acquired over 10 years ago.
- You cannot have ever worked full time as a baker, cook or chef.
