Open audition at the Baxters Theater center, Cape Town

The Baxter Theatre Centre & Zabalaza Theatre Festival would like to invite actors to an OPEN AUDITION for exciting productions Karoo Moose and Amathaf’entandabuzo scheduled to perform in 2016.

Karoo Moose is an award-winning play by the South African playwright Lara Foot.

Set in a remote village in the Karoo, the play depicts the trials and tribulations of a young girl called Thozama.

Amathaf’entandabuzo is a isiXhosa set work play written by Fikiswa P Magqashela and directed by Thami Mbongo.

Apha ebomini ke zikho izinto esithi sidibane nazo, zimbi sigaxeleka kuzo kuba singenako ukuziphepha, kanti ke ezinye singena kuzo ngenxa yokufumana senze. Ingxaki ke iba sekuzikhupheni kwiingotsi ezinjalo sele bukrakra nobomi ngoku.

Artists are encouraged to prepare a 2-3 minute monologue in any preferred language.

Those who are comfortable with music and movement are welcome to prepare a song and movement piece.

Criteria:
-Young black male and female actors
-Preferably between the ages of 18 and 35
