CASTING BREAKDOWN: ADULTS

MISS HANNIGAN
The director of the New York City Municipal Orphanage. Early 40’s – mid 60’s. Miss Hannigan resents the young girls she is supposed to protect and feels bitter and indignant that life has passed her by. A woman with needs, and nobody to pamper or love her. Hannigan is tough, an old fashioned New York broad with a major drink problem. There’s something little grotesque about her. A leading role for a great character actor.

Strong vocal and dance. Mezzo-Soprano: A – A flat

OLIVER (DADDY) WARBUCKS
Mid 50’s + (depending on casting). A multi billionaire businessman. Originally from Hell’s Kitchen NYC. Warbucks battled his way to the top of the business world. Although he is well respected, there should be a mysterious side to his character, which makes him intriguing. Masses of high status and authority. Until Annie comes along, Warbucks had lost all sense of human kindness and humility. Annie offers him the capacity for change, which he fully embraces, learning to love and enjoy life once more.

ROOSTER + as cast
Early to mid 30’s (dependent on casting). Miss Hannigan’s younger brother. Rooster-like. A scrawny man but with sex appeal. One recognizes this man is a villain the moment he enters a room. Terrifying, sinister presence. Tough. A man who isn’t afraid (and has) to kill.

LILY +as cast
Early to mid 30’s (dependent on casting). Rooster’s partner in crime and love interest. A young Lily Savage. A rough, tough, sexy broad from New Jersey. A big rack and a bigger mouth on her. Sexy, in a dirty blonde kinda way.

GRACE FARRELL
Mid 20’s thru early 30’s. Private Secretary to Oliver Warbucks. A beautiful, demure and kind young woman, with flair and intelligence.

Lt Ward + FDR + JIMMY JOHNSON + as cast + Cover Warbucks
Authoriative, stern. An old salt. Bumbling and inept, with a good heart. Knocked off his plate by Annie’s streetwise character, but happy to embrace her. Quiet status.
