A first for any Honours Drama Student at Rhodes University, I was selected to direct VOID, a devised piece for the Grahamstown National Arts Festival, an annual festival which hosts both local and international artists. VOID was awarded Best Student Production NAF 2015 out of 27 universities. I attribute its success not only to hard work and directing skills, but also to the communication and leadership abilities which I would bring to bear in my career. Work Experience Rhodes University, Grahamstown Theatre-making tutor- Selected to tutor 1st years in basic theatre-making tasks. Rhodes University, Grahamstown, Feb 2015 - July 2015 Student Director; VOID, Student Piece at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival. Awards: Best Student Production NAF 2015 UBOM! Eastern Cape Drama Company, Grahamstown, Jan 2015 - March 2015 Marketing Intern- Worked within a team to promote UBOM!'s family show, 'Bleek Island Adventure.' This experience was an integral part of our honours marketing course, designed to teach us how to market ourselves as well as others. The course covered marketing dynamics, budgeting, design and social work.
