Justin Nanak was born in Durban, South Africa, and was raised in the picturesque town of Port Shepstone on the KZN South Coast. He attended Port Shepstone High School where he discovered his love for the arts and an equally intriguing passion for science. This love led him to land roles in the yearly school musical productions, West Side Story, Grease and Fame, directed by the acclaimed Anita Schönauer who is responsible for Justin discovering his singing voice after she decided he join the school choir to gain vocal technique.
After matriculating from Port Shepstone High School, Justin relocated to Durban to further his education in the Sciences and graduated as an Analytical Chemist.
After working for a well-known organisation in the Petrochemical industry, whilst being very involved in the Music Ministry, creating a band, and laying vocals for local producers, Justin then invested his time in the Hospitality industry by opening his first restaurant – a coffee, art and music café on Durban’s famous Florida Road, which became a popular spot for many local artists.
After much discernment, Justin felt a tug at his heart and felt God calling him to work more closely within the Youth and Music Ministry. After a few dedicated years and attending a life-changing Life Teen Youth Ministry Conference in Cape Town, he made the brave decision to quit the Hospitality industry and take up his call to music and the ministry.
A year later, after being obedient to God’s call, he is a full time Youth and Music Minister, and Music Coordinator at the Parish of The Blessed Sacrament and Star of the Sea in Umhlanga area. He has musically directed the Empower Durban Worship Team at their yearly conferences as well as numerous Life Teen XLT nights. All this led to the success of his self-released debut album, Your Will Be Done, in 2016, under the management of Lizz Payne.

In 2017, Justin and friend Thandeka were commissioned to write, record and perform the Official Theme Song for Mini World Youth Day which led to perform at the Opening Ceremony and release the world-class Music Video for the event.
