My name is Zanele . A 23 year old born and bred in the dusty streets of Gugulethu. My interest in the creative arts started off when I was a young 7year old. I used to draw all these garments and say to my friends that I'd grow up to be a fashion designer. However, it's in High School (Herschel Girls School), where I discovered I had a passion for visual arts, singing and acting and started participating in these fields . The love for acting came about in 2010. My gran founded this musical, Ezethu, and I got the chance to perform with the group at Arts Cape. Ezethu is a musical following the journeys, customs and experiences of amaXhosa. The queen of Spain came to watch our final show which was such an honour. After this experience I took acting, theatre and the stage more seriously and actually started teaching drama to students from Thandokhulu High School. At UCT I also took up drama as a major, however did not complete it sadly.
I've also been part of singing groups, be it Jazz, afrosoul and a capella.
I have a minimal career in the arts and would like to take my chances and add more to ny resume. I believe I have what it takes to transform and be the character required. And cannot wait to brace the industry with my talents, hard work and dedication.
