As Miss Earth South Africa 2014, Ilzé Saunders is an environmentalist and public figure promoting green living and environmental sustainability as well as motivational focus and well-being. With her background in presenting, acting, communications, marketing, community engagements, PR and event management and business owner of Above The Curve (Pty) Ltd. and Ilzé Saunders luxury apparel and swimwear, she knows how to pursue ambitions and put into action what needs to be done in order to reach work and life goals.

An energetic and dynamic person filled with enthusiasm, Ilzé can cook up any success story with a “Yes we can” attitude! Ilzé immerses herself in CSI projects and lives with poise and humanity. Her infectious smile and wholesome presence can be felt in everything she does. She is beautifully humble, yet bold in her endeavours.

She believes in making a difference through working with brands that see her vision. Ambition and hard work go hand in hand. She believes that when love, hard work and skill work together, expect a masterpiece.

Ilzé represented South Africa at the International Miss Earth 2014 in the Philippines and walked away with Gold Medals for National Costume, Environmental Presentation and of course silver for Miss Friendship chosen by the contestants. Her green journey has seen her travelling. During 2014 Ilzé was invited by the Minister Of Environment Affairs, Edna Molewa alongside the Miss Earth South Africa organisation to represent South Africa at the (UNFCCC COP20) United Nations Climate Change Conference in Peru, South America. Ilzé was also involved in the World Forestry Congress and World Wildlife Fund Journey of Water. In March 2016 Ilzé travelled with the Miss Earth South Africa team to the Philippines and joined a group of world changers while being trained by Al Gore, to be a Climate Reality Leader.
