am a multifaceted performing artist specializing in Contemporary, Ballet, Tap, Pantsula, Gumboot, and Jazz. With extensive experience in musical theatre, choreography, teaching, and performance, I am passionate about inspiring the next generation of artists. I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Cape Town and a National Diploma & BTech in Performing Arts from Tshwane University of Technology. My current research explores Southern African dance genres and their impact on the global dance industry, reflecting my commitment to preserving and expanding indigenous dance forms on a global scale.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of performing with Cape Town City Ballet for three years, showcasing my versatility in classical and contemporary works. My performance highlights include appearances at Classic is Groot 2018 (Menlyn, Sun Arena), the Gauteng Sports Awards 2018, and SATMA 13 (South African Traditional Music Awards). Additionally, I have participated in The South African State Theatre’s Incubator Programs, further refining my artistic skills and expanding my experience in the professional dance industry.
Beyond performance, I have dedicated my career to dance education, working with students aged 5–18 in The South African State Theatre’s afternoon programs, where I taught Contemporary, Tap, and Pantsula. My passion for teaching extends to choreography, where I have successfully designed and implemented engaging dance programs that increase student attendance, participation, and satisfaction by 60%. I take pride in developing an inclusive curriculum that fosters growth, confidence, and a deep love for dance, ensuring that every student finds their unique artistic voice.
In addition to my work in dance education, I have gained valuable experience in analyzing, creating, and interpreting choreography and theatre productions. My involvement in community workshops, promotional events, and stage management has equipped me with skills in leadership, organization, and artistic direction. Furthermore, my knowledge of physiology and anatomy allows me to prioritize the health and safety of dancers, ensuring they develop strong technical foundations while minimizing injury risks.
I am deeply committed to blending artistic expression with creativity, creating a dynamic and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore their talents.
