Olwethu Yamkela

My name is Olwethu Yamkela Khuzwayo. I am 21 years old, I’m an African. My home language is Isizulu. I live in KZN in Durban in small town called Hammarsdale in Georgedale. I live with my whole family from my mother’s side. I’m the only daughter in my parents but I don’t live with both of them I live with my mom. My father doesn’t stay with us and he’s no there in my life. The only people that are supportive in my life is mom, grandpa and grandma. These are the only people that are in my life as I’m existing. I grew up in small town Hammarsdale and I used to attend schools that are in my town. I’ve started lower grades in Vukuziphathe J.P School I learnt their grade R-4 then grade 5-7 I went to Intakemazolo Combined School. Grade 8 I learned at Skhethuxolo high school. These Schools are in location. Then grade 9 I went to St Jude College, it was a mixed school my mom was wanting me to have a better education just like other kids. And when I was supposed to do grade 10 we found out that the school is not registered so they closed it. Then I went to Nomaswazi high in Pietermaritzburg to do grade 10. While I’m in Nomaswazi I didn’t cope because i attended late and the year was already started, then I that thing affected me so I failed my grade 10. So I my mom decided that the following year I must change the location and the schools. So I went to stay in Empangeni with my sisters’ mother which she’s my aunt. I stayed there with her 3 full years. I used to went in school Ezakheleni high School, where I did my grade 10 up to grade 12.and I passed my matric with bachelor. I matriculated in 2022. And they did not accept my in many universities. So I took an unplanned gap year in 2023 because I couldn’t apply in colleges because my mom is the only person who is there for me and we don’t have enough money for colleges. And I started looking for a job and I’ve submitted my cv in whatever vacancies was there and they didn’t take me but I didn’t lose hope because I was applying and I end up not getting any job and I stayed at home doing nothing the whole 2023. The things I like to do in life and I’m passionate about it is modeling and acting I really love to be a star and being out there and be seen. In 2016 I entered a Miss at school where in was learning, and I didn’t won but I was in top 20 then in 2018 I entered another miss where it was hosted in school I used to go to and then there I won I became a Queen and there was even a newspaper about it, I was happy that I’ve made it then in 2020 I tried to carry on with modeling but I couldn’t because of the situation I was in. But no I even look for agencies and I’m hoping I’ll find one. And I like acting but I’ve never been on a screen but I was acting in school and I am looking forward to achieving my dreams of acting because it is something i like, I even use tiktok peoples sound to act the way I like acting and being there on a screen.
