am a cabin crew member who loves to travel and have done so extensively. I love sports and adventure sports, I reached my scuba dive master qualification years ago and I have Bungy jumped and parachuted on a few occasions..
I keep fit by running and going to gym.
I also walk a lot..and I am very good with directions…..in most of the cities that I have gone to I can take you around to all the good spots, I know most of them better than any city here in South Africa……. I am talking about cities like New York, London, Hong Kong, Miami, Bangkok, Frankfurt, Buenos Aires, Paris and Perth.
Years ago, when I did my national service, I was a platoon sergeant in a unit that had Bushmen(San) soldiers as the troops, they were excellent trackers and that was a very interesting time for me.
I studied tourism and started working for an airline right after. And the flying was amazing to me.
I was married and my wife was also a cabin crew member, so each working trip was like a holiday for us and we both loved the travelling. So we decided to wait with children. Sadly she passed from cancer at age 37 in 2011.
Since working as a crew member I have made announcements over the pa on numerous occasions and I have often been told that I have a really good voice and that I should apply for a job as a radio personality…
I love cooking and experimenting in the kitchen and I am very adventurous with food……I will tast anything and will then attempt to make it myself as well.
I love some of these travel shows, however I think most of them have a wrong formula…they do not give enough information on the trips and how you would go about to book these trips or what time of year is best to go and why……also they almost never give any idea of what it would cost for us South Africans. I am sure I can make such shows far more interesting and give more relevant information. I am actually very interested in bringing foreign hunters to South African and giving them a proper trip with a professional video of that trip, some of the things I have seen are so amateurish and can be done so much better. We have such great opportunities in this country to excel in things like that.
Over the years I have seen so much and so many interesting things, like the smallest vineyard in Paris on the back slopes of the Sacre Cur and a book shop, opposite the Norte Dame where you can sleep for free while you are writing a book, as long as you just help out in the bookshop while you are there.
There are so many hidden gems out there that very few people know about but that most people would find a fascinating, and I know that I can expose people to that and I would love to have the chance….
