My name is Lebohang , I’m a 21-year-old actor based in Randburg, Johannesburg, originally from the Free State. I grew up between two worlds — the simplicity of small-town life and the rush of city dreams — and that balance shaped who I am today. I’ve always believed that where you come from doesn’t define your limits; it just builds the foundation you rise from.
From a young age, I was drawn to storytelling. I didn’t even realise it was acting at first — it was just me, expressing myself through imagination, expression, and rhythm. Whether it was a school play, a classroom drama, or just acting out scenes with my friends, I felt most alive when I was performing. The more I explored it, the more I understood that I wasn’t just pretending to be someone else — I was learning how to become someone else and still stay true to myself. That’s when I knew acting was more than a hobby; it was a calling.
Growing up in the Free State, I learned discipline early through sports. I played rugby, soccer, and even chess, which taught me different sides of life — physical strength, teamwork, and strategic thinking. Sports gave me discipline, but acting gave me direction. I realised the same focus I used on the field could be turned into performance. Whether it’s remembering lines, mastering a character’s movement, or understanding emotion, discipline is everything.
When I moved to Johannesburg, I saw a different kind of hustle. The energy here is different — fast, hungry, ambitious. It’s a city that forces you to level up or get left behind. I wanted to be part of that energy, not just to survive it, but to own it. That’s why I started pushing harder into acting. I joined school plays, took part in music videos, and began experimenting with YouTube content. Each project taught me something new about performance, lighting, timing, emotion, and storytelling. I learned that the camera doesn’t just capture your face — it captures your truth.
I can speak English, Afrikaans, Sotho, isiXhosa, and a bit of Zulu. Being multilingual helps me connect with different people and characters. South Africa is full of stories told in many languages, and I want to represent that diversity on screen. Whether I’m playing a township hustler, a romantic lead, or a businessman, I bring authenticity to the role because I understand the people behind those characters. I grew up around them. I am them.
Acting for me is like living different lives without losing yourself. Every role gives me a chance to explore a different version of who I could’ve been. I love playing the street hustler, because it’s real — it shows the grind, the hunger, the need to rise out of nothing. But I also enjoy the romantic roles, because they show emotion, vulnerability, and balance. Then there’s the businessman, a role that speaks to the mindset of growth and power. These roles might seem far apart, but they all connect to one thing — ambition. That’s what drives me every day.
My inspiration comes from legends like 2Pac, Jay-Z, Ice Cube, and Riky Rick — artists who broke limits, told their stories raw, and turned pain into art. They didn’t just make music or movies; they built movements. I grew up watching their interviews, studying how they spoke, how they carried themselves, and how they used creativity as a weapon. They proved that you can come from nothing and still become something unforgettable.
One of my favourite quotes comes from Tupac Shakur:
