Since the age of 14, I’ve had a dream of one day standing in the middle of a stage with the echoes of applause, screaming and a breath of satisfaction of a performance well done. The stage being a platform where I can express not only myself, but the works of minds deeply rooted in the art of expression itself. Performing for a crowd screaming my name over and over again is what I long for and the thirst I have for knowledge to foster my passion for arts.
If in any way I could describe what I feel when thinking, talking and expressing art, the only word that comes to mind is love. I love the hard work and all the creativity displayed behind the magical moments I’ve had on and seen on stage. art in all forms is my passion . As a promising writer I believe that my drive and capabilities would be an asset to the industry and hopefully one day I too can be a beacon of light to those like me. I believe that every individual has something to give, and my contribution I feel is my uniqueness and the ability to turn imaginations into art and in the process bringing art to life.
Last year I studied performing arts at Northlink College (Tygerberg campus). Unfortunately during the course of the year I was unable to continue citing financial constraints. This was a low in my life as it meant my dream was slowly slipping away from me. The passion that once burnt fierce felt like it was burning out. Performing is the only thing that keeps me looking forward to the next day and being around pure talent taught me to be grateful for the opportunities I have had. As a young black women driven to persue her purpose, I believe the journey starts here.
